Thanks so much Geninne, it was wonderful to watch you in action. The music made it such a peaceful video to watch...oh to try watercolours again.
Rachael :-)
Hi Geninne
Fantastic, thank you!
Nicely done. Thank you, Gennine.
Peace, Blue
These art videos you make are so wonderful! I'm a visual learner, so seeing your technique from start to finish is so helpful. I've read so many books on stamp making, but I didn't really get it until I watched you make the feather stamp. Now I understand how to hold the tool and how to approach curves, etc. I've been struggling with watercolors, and this video has already opened my eyes a bit. Looking forward to playing with paint now! Thanks!
Such a beautiful thing to wake up to. Thank you.
That was such a wonderful gift. I find it fascinating to watch other people work, and learn more from that than ANY books. I can't wait to see the other videos (you may have even inspired me to brave the heat of my studio today to paint...maybe)
I cannot imagine a better way to start the day than this video (and a cup of coffee). Watching you work + all the colors (your bracelets, the books) + that gorgeous soundtrack is meditative and just...grace personified. Thank you so much!
I love your bracelets, did you make them?
Is there a special way, or special paper, to keep the paper from rumpling up when it gets so wet from the watercolor? Yours looked so good. Usually when I watercolor, the paper gets pretty wavy (even if the paper is thick watercolor paper). Do I need even thicker paper?
p.s. i can't wait to see how you paint the bird itself!!!
it's crazy. i feel so satisfied watchng this video. like nothing else than this bird matters. i guess that's what i love about art. great job.
thank you Geninne.^^ I'm really happy to see this vid.Really looking forward to part 2 and 3.
I tried to paint many times, but failed to create watery effect like yours.Mine just dry up too fast.I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my colors.. hmm ..it just won't flow like oil.It becomes patchy.
Ah~ sorry for the unnecessary comments.
Thanks again for the vid ^^

Beautiful! My son and I enjoyed this so much!
Enjoyed your video very much and have just downloaded one of Patrick O'Hearn's albums. Thank you for introducing me to his music! :-)
That was wonderful! It's absolutely fascinating watching you work, so I can hardly wait for the next installment. :-)
Geninne, thank you! This is great.
beautiful painting and beautiful music, thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing the next part! :)
Gracias muchas gracias!
Mariqui
Thank you for such a wonderful video. You make it look so easy. You've inspired me to take out my watercolors and try again.
So beautiful. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait for the next part!
calming and relaxing; thank you.
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing that.
¡Hola!:

Love this, aqnd the music you chose. Thanks so much!
Thank you Geninne for being so generous with your talent! I also wish I could take art classes from you, but for now, this is really a big help for me to see the process. Can't wait for part 2 &3! xoxo
This was fun to watch. Thank you for posting it.
That was so wonderful...your fluid painting and the soothing music combined to take me on a little vacation....thanks for sharing.
I´m looking forward to part 2 and 3!! I´m mostly interested in the detailing with the acrylic ink.
Your blog is verry inspiring! I´ve already found acrylic ink and extra white paper to try this kind of painting. I´m so glad to use watercolors again....
Thank you!!!!!!!
I can't believe how fast you did that. Incredible. Thanks for giving us a peek into your world.
Thank you so much! I haven't painted in more than a week as I have been quite down, and your video has inspired me to get back to it. And I love your musical selections too!
Geninne, that was very enlightening... you paint so freely. I can't wait to see the next episode, I know I'll learn so much! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful process and so relaxing to watch :) Can't wait for part 2.
Oh, was that Turbo fur in the paint? Boy do I understand that one. I always get Shadow fur in everything!!
It's so nice to see an artist's video that isn't all sped up too - so you can actually see what's happening! I'll take the extra loading time anyday for a real-time video, as opposed to one that's been squished down to only a couple of minutes. Thanks for sharing :)
Watching was so soothing!

It's amazing and wonderful ! I've got the same colorbox but not 1% of your talent!
Ah - that made me so happy. A bit of beautiful color to start off my morning.
It was so relaxing to watch you paint...thanks for sharing that.
I like your hands...you have really flexible finger joints...I have that too.
I can't wait for next installment x
I loved your video and your art, found you through Jennifer's blog!
Geninne, you make it look so easy though we all know it takes your incredible talent to produce something as beautiful as this painting will be.
Thank you for sharing so much of your process with us, and for the lovely music. I love the gorgeous blues you chose for the background. I can't wait to see parts 2 and 3 and especially the finished work!

Potrei guardarti lavorare per una giornata intera!
Veronica
I just watched this with my kids age 8, 7, 5 and 2 and we all loved it. They said the bird was "beautiful" and talked to each other about the different blues you used. They enjoyed the music as well. When it was finished they asked me to play the part when you color the bird, we can't wait to see it.
what kind of paper do you paint on? it was so inspiring to watch. thanks for sharing <3
You have inspired me so much! Thank you for the lovely video. Like Jo, I would like to know what paper you paint on?
Thank you for showing us how you approach your work....can't wait for the next installment! Your birds are so wonderful...how did you learn to draw them so well? Love your colors....love everything!
Great tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing and it looks beautiful. I watched all three videos.
beautiful.

Inspiring ...
I've watched the video with my sister and my 9 years old niece. She draws and paints and is really good..and I could see how amazed was she seeing you working with the watercolours. We really enjoy your blog, it's one of our favourites!
Kat
Thank you so much for sharing your process with us! I can't wait to show my almost-8-year-old budding artist. I have a feeling we'll be seeing lots of watercolor birds in our house very soon :)
Forgive me, because you have probably answered this question before, but is there a good instructional watercolor book you'd recommend? I briefly took watercolor as a part of studio art in high school, and at some point want to take some art classes at the local university, but at this season in my life w/ small children & homeschooling a class for me isn't really in my realm of possibility.
Gracias!!!
Thank you!
It's so great to be able to watch art-in-the-making! I love drawing, have not gone on to painting yet (i did when I was a teenager, art classes and what not, but have not touched watercolors in the last 10+ years). This has really inspired me to start painting, a real "I can do it too" push!
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing your painting process. You make it look so easy! I thought there must be some complicated technique you used to make the watercolor swirl and pool in the background so beautifully. Love it! By the way, I have that same leather bracelet/wrap--don't you want to wear it with everything?? ;-)
Now I am inpsired. Thank you for posting these videos!! What beautiful work you do.
Hi Geninne-
I love your paintings and Turbo too:) I'm a middle school art teacher at a really low income school and we have been talking a lot about how persistence and patience in art and in life can equal success. I had them watch a video of you doing detail work so they could see the patience that you have and how the end results produce something beautiful.
Suzanne
Hi Geninne,
I adore your style of working which is so much the kind I always wanted to paint and never reached your level..
wonderul..
when I saw your video I was asking myself why you used to wear sunglasses while painting..is there any special reason? do you see colors better??
Many greetings and never stop painting.
Dya
JUST FOUND YOUR SITE BUT DON;T SEE A FOLLOW TO CLICK ON. JUST A GRANNY WISHING THAT I COULD BE AN ARTIST. STUCK IN A CHAIR. MAYBE I'LL TRY. THIS DIDN'T LOOK SO HARD. THANKS FOR SHARING.LOVE YOUR WORK.
A GRANNY FROM FLORIDA
This was just what I was looking for. I am trying to learn how to paint birds and I guess you/your blog is my new teacher!
Also, how you painted the background, it was great, I am always afraid to use that much pigment/water, now I know I can.
I enjoyed this so much... much like my work!
