Whoooo got so excited to see the spectacular lunar eclipse that she forgot to take out the camera & snap some cool pics at 1:45 am? um... that would be me. Sorry! Watercolor and acrylic in on Fabriano paper. 6" x 8"
Precioso buho!
As we watched last night, from a rather cloudy sky we caught glimpses of the eclipse. The moon looked like a vanilla wafer. At one point we saw a fair amount of stars including Orions Belt. Then, magically, we saw a shooting star! This is really something as we are in the 4th largest city in the USA! and usually don't get to star gaze much. I thought to myself, Geninne will paint a wonderful rendition of this sight. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Oh no! I missed it. I was completely passed out in exhaustion. I had ALL these plans to wake up the kidlet. As it turns out, we were too cloudy here to see it anyway, but I still think, "what if".
I only got to see it at 10pm and 2am--both times it was only about 1/4 occluded, with no particular color effects. But it was lovely nonetheless! No photos as I have a junky automatic camera...
I love your owls face :)
There are some really cool pics on flickr about the eclipse. :)
This owl is beautiful, Geninne!
